FAQ's
Hikes & Adventures

Apart from our big Annual Leash Explorer Activation, we also offer group hikes and adventures throughout the winter season.

Where can I find more information regarding the hikes & adventures?

You can find all upcoming hikes and adventures on our Tickets page. Or follow us on Instagram or our WhatsApp Channel so you're always up to date with our upcoming events.

2

Why should I join Leash Explorer?

Going on a hike or adventure with your dog by yourself can be fun and adventurous, but is not always the safest option, especially if you're not that experienced with exploring the outdoors.

We work with established, certified and licensed outdoor adventure companies, to be able to offer you fun and safe experiences for you and your dog.

Tickets have the same price as if you would book with our partner directly. Booking your ticket with us however, will guarantee a fun experience with other dogs and dog owners in a safe way that focuses not only on your, but also your dog's wellbeing.

3

What is included in the ticket price?

In the ticket price is included a guided hike or adventure with both marshals from Leash Explorer as well as a partner company.

We only work with people that are just like us, trained and licensed to take you on an outdoor adventure and are able to assist you or your dog in any case of first aid needs with the needed equipment.

Additionally there are several goodies when joining a Leash Explorer adventure including the Leash Explorer's seasonal passport in which you can collect the stickers of all adventures, water, snacks and treats for your dog. Last but not least, we also provide a leash sleeve that show the sociability of your dog for the other dog owners to easily recognize.

In some adventures a proper meal is also included and will be announced accordingly in the ticket details if that is the case.

What should I bring?

For any outdoor adventure it is important to bring:

-Outdoor adventure clothing (a hiking pants and shirt will do) Women might want to consider wearing a sports bra.

-Hiking boots (normal sneakers will not give you a good grip).

-Hiking backpack that you can strap around your waist. Preferably with a water pouch for easy access to water during the hike.

-Water & snacks for both you and your dog (although also provided by the Leash Explorer team before starting the hike or adventure). On average, you might consume around half a liter of water every hour. Your dog will consume around a quarter of a liter per hour.

-A water bottle with bowl for your dog to easily drink from (preferably where you can out the water back in that has not been consumed).

-Poop bags and trash bag for yourself.

-Headlamp in case of a very early or very late adventure.

-Portable battery for your phone.

-Small first-aid kit in case you don't want to use ours ;)

We as organizers would like to advise you not to bring your dog on a retractable leash and we strongly advice against prong and e-collars as well as slip leashes.

FAQ's
Annual Activation

We get a lot of questions about our annual Leash Explorer activation, as it's an unique activation for dogs and their owners.

You might want to know a bit more than what is already explained in detail on the tickets page

You can find the most asked questions on this page.

Is this event one day?

No, the Leash Explorer annual activation is an event that will happen the whole months of February & March, plus a finale day on the last Saturday of March. The ticket sale will go live in December. Our other events and hikes are one day events and are happening only on the days as mentioned in the Tickets section.

2

Are all activities individually or with a group?

After you have purchased your ticket, you can pick-up your starter pack in the last week of January.

In your starter pack, you'll receive a booklet with information of all the places you are supposed to visit and the activities you're going to do.

You can do everything at your convenient time and day by yourself.

When you book your ticket, you'll also have access to the group with other Leash Explorers where you can connect and even schedule in trips together if you don't want to go alone.

3

Are there any other costs apart from the ticket?

In the ticket price all the costs for the starter pack to get you started are included, as well as the costs for the activities.

4

My dog is a reactive dog, is Leash Explorer for me?

Leash Explorer is for every dog no matter how big or small.

We also understand that some dogs might not be as social as other dogs.

Since all the activities and challenges can be done individually, you get to enjoy Leash Explorer also with a reactive dog.
